SALISBURY TRIP

Hi students

Here you have some pictures of the trip to Salisbury!!!

This year we have organised several cultural trips to other nearby cities and sites.

We visited the cathedral on the first day, as last year, and we also saw Magna Carta. It is legal document dated from 1215. There are only 3 copies left and one is Salisbury's cathedral.

The next day we went to Winchester and we went sightseeing the town. Winchester's cathedral is also famous for its Bible and a Jane Austen is buried inside the cathedral, too. We went into the Great Hall, where King Arthur's Round Table is hang on the wall.

On Wednesday, our students visited Stonehenge, a very mysterious place. It is still unknown the meaning of the position of the stones. Some researchers have argued that it is an astrological monument where druid celebrated sacrifices and sacred ceremonies for winter and summer solstice.
We also visited Old Sarum ruins, which are next to Salisbury. Can you hear the legend?

On Thursday, we did a trip to London and we could see some famous landmarks such as the Houses of Parliament, Big Ben, Westminster Abbey, Buckingham Palace, St James' s, Park Picadilly Circus, Regent Street and Oxford Street.

On Friday,  our students received a certificate of attendance and Kaplan Academy organised a leaving party.
